Project information
This project is able to provide operative delivery of medication and ammunition to hard-to-reach locations, under the conditions of entrapment or combat without life danger to supplier; possible configurations for different missions - surveillance and monitoring, transportation; small overall dimensions and low-observable characteristics of the system for air defence equipment; reduction of operational expenses (flight route, taking off and landing are performed automatically).

Transport/multi-purpose unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are used for missions both in peacetime and during local wars, armed conflicts, for operative delivery of medication, radio stations, ammunition and other load.

The system is designed for use by military units of the Armed Forces, subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Specifications

The drone is able to fly up to 1000 m high, flight time - 60 min. Payload weight is up to 15 kg, drone’s weight is 12 kg. Navigation system allows to define the coordinates within the accuracy to 20 m and control the drone at a distance of 10 km.

Drone equipment:

  • Aircraft autopilot system
  • Satellite navigation system receiver
  • Telemetry subsystem for transmission of drone flight parameters to control unit
  • Interchangeable mission equipment (customer’s request option: TV camera, digital camera, infra-red camera, jamming transmitter, radioactivity sensor, chemical sensor and so on)
  • System control provides autonomous flight (according to the program), manual control flight, return to the starting point in case of communication channels failure

UAS general characteristics:

  • The system usage is almost invisible (functional units are covered with protective layer, sound and light disguise etc.)
  • GPS, GLONASS and inertial systems
  • All units of optic-electronic monitoring have changeable focal length objectives with remote length control
  • Under conditions of unstable or lost communication with control station the drone is able to return to starting point in autopilot mode or perform the programmed task
  • Drone equipment and communication lines are protected against jamming devices, the system operates under conditions of unstable or temporary lost connection with control station
  • Control unit is designed on the base of a tablet PC with shockproof and water-proof casing
  • Software works together with on-board navigation and control system of the drone

What has been done

  1. Prototype model was produced
  2. System manoeuvring capability and cargo dropping tools were tested during field operations
  3. Prototype model was applied for primary official tests to be conducted by the Ministry of Defence

The next stages of the project

  1. Improvement of prototype model
  2. Developing construction documentation
  3. Production of samples
  4. Samples tests
  5. Registration of patents
  6. Launch of serial production
