Project information
Purpose of rotorcraft: public-transport, trainer, patrol (standing patrol and monitoring of state frontier areas, airborne control of guards and subunits actions, conducting demonstrative affairs, affairs of psychological influence), search and rescue, reconnaissance of, radioelectronic warfare.
Serial manufacturing of rotorcrafts KT-112 “Kadet” in Ukraine will allow to get the following advantages:
- high reliability of twin-engined rotorcraft in comparison with single-engined rotorcraft – in the event of failure of one engine, twin-engine helicopter continues to fly
- reasonable price, since the cost of other twin-engined rotorcrafts which belong to medium category, at least 10 times the cost of rotorcraft KT-112
- permission to fly over the city, sea and forests (it is forbidden for single-engined rotorcrafts)
- the use of gasoline does not need to base helicopter KT-112 “Kadet” on the ground and create stocks of aviation fuel, and also significantly reduces the cost of flying hours
- usage of internal-combustion engines instead of gas-turbine engines minimizes shot-down probability in case of using man-portable air-defence systems by enemy (important for military modifications)
Specifications
Basic configuration of rotorcraft is equipped with two engines Rotax 912 of 100 horse power each. Maximum take off gross weight is 925 kg, including empty weight of rotorcraft is 540 kg. Cruise speed is 160 km/h, and maximum speed is 190 km/h. Lifting speed is 8 m/s. Crew is 1 pilot and 2 (3) passengers. Maximum flying height (absolute ceiling) is 4000 m.
Installing of additional equipment and more powerful engines (115 horse power each) on other modifications of rotorcraft is specified.
What has been done
- Due to the project the full set of working design documentation (WDD) has been done
- The stage of factory tests of rotorcraft and its hardware on the basis of RIO-25 and SC “Antonov”
- An industrial model is registered in a record of patents No 24142 as “Light multi-purpose rotorcraft KT-112” dated 12/25/2012
- “Complex program for certification tests of a typical construction rotorcraft KT-112 ”Kadet“ and its operating documentation is approved by State Air Service due to Certification basis (CB-112) requirements, compliance to worldwide standards FAR, IAR (CS), AP Part 27 and 33 that gives the possibility to validate type certification in any country of a Customer
